Production – Day 1

Wow, finally the day arrived. After months of preproduction consisting of rewrites, meetings, storyboarding, meetings, scouting, meetings we finally reached this day. At 4 AM we made our way to the magnificent Manuel Antonio Beach.

After a healthy breakfast the camera team started setting up for the first shot. Unfortunately there is no access way to our location for cars so everything had to be carried in… Not an easy task considering the weight of all the equipment.

Even the sun played along and the initially overcast sky cleared up. To Chris’ satisfaction we had sun all day long what made the jungle look great!

Then the first shot of the film... followed by many more. Everyone on the crew worked so hard today and it has been an amazingly smooth first day. Looking forward to many, many more...

See below some impressions from the set:

Production... Production... Everyone is busy :-)

Aiken Weiss, our Steadicam operator.

Two of our stars from the film: Justin Baldoni and Jewel Staite.

And of course our awesome Director/DP Team: Jorg Ihle and Chris Popp.

We will have another 4 AM call tomorrow. So I'm off to bed... :-)
